To know God so that He actually speaks to us through His Word takes regular, effective Bible Study. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Acts 17:11 says, “These [Bereans] were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” It’s imperative for the child of God to search the Scriptures daily and study the Word of God to know Him as He desires for us to know Him.
1. The Believer Must Prepare Himself To Study God’s Word.
Prepare yourself by being diligently committed. Paul used the word “workman” to young Timothy. It literally means a laborer. You don’t gain Bible knowledge by being a casual student of the Word. Bible study is hard work and it takes daily discipline.
